Genealogy is the study of family history and lineage, tracing ancestors through historical records, traditions, and genetic testing. It helps people discover their roots, understand their heritage, and connect with long-lost relatives.
Why Explore Your Family Tree?
Discover Your Heritage - Learn about your ancestors' origins, cultures, and migrations.
Preserve Family Stories - Document traditions, names, and events that might otherwise be forgotten.
Historical Connection - See how your ancestors lived through major events like wars, migrations, and social changes.
The Peace Pipe TV Approach To Genealogy
Peace Pipe TV starts with what you know. We provide a Genealogy Intake Form to help us gather information that you have to help us with our starting point. This includes Names, Birthdates, Location of Parents, Grandparents, etc.
We dive deep into public records such as census records, birth/marriage/death certificates, immigration logs, Tribal Rolls, Slave and military records. These help connect the dots and piece together the story of your family.
Please be aware, at times we come across challenges in Genealogy. These challenges can be missing or inaccurate records. Wars, natural disasters, and human error can obscure family history. Name changes and spelling variations can also be an issue. We find this a lot in Slave records and immigration documents. Adoption and unknown parentage can also cause us to hit a brick wall. Unfortunately, some connections remain mysteries.
Genealogy is more than just names and dates- it's a journey into your past, helping you understand who you are and where you come from. Whether you're building a family tree or just wanting to know who you are, uncovering your lineage can be a deeply rewarding experience.
